ADRIFT - 35 YEARS IN SEARCH OF CARP

A new book by Gareth Fareham

The book covers 35 years in search of carp, focussing on the seasons between 2004 and 2022, and tells the story chronologically of how Gaz's angling life has played out - all the lovely times, and the tough ones too. It is a book about the search for big, beautiful carp, but it is also about so much more than that.

Gaz's fishing has rarely followed a straight-forward path between targets and waters, and so instead the book has been written season to season, and given some real-life context and timescales to everything that has happened along the way, and how it all fitted into place. There is everything from periods of total obsession and immersion, to the failed missions and struggle, it is all detailed. The title 'Adrift' relates to the idea of freedom, and the vast multitude of different waters and challenges Gaz has taken on over the years.

The 496 pages, 180'000 words, and over 500 images cover time spent at Argal, Coate Water, Petty Pool, Vinnetrow, Nutsey, Yateley, Dinton, Roach Pit, Pingewood, Mill Lane, Hollybush, Spinnaker, Flint, Stoneacres and more, as well as all the adventures in Belgium, France, Germany, Spain and beyond, that wind their way through the years.

There are also four special guest chapters in there as well by close friends for a bit of extra spice - special carp from special lakes.

The very best of Gaz's photography from over the years illustrates the pages, many that haven't been used elsewhere or seen before and Gaz laid it all out with love and care himself.

The copies have been printed here in the UK on the South Coast on a lovely quality FSC Certified sustainably sourced paper, using carbon neutral processes and environmentally friendly inks.

Copies are shipped in bubble wrap and bespoke heavy duty card book mailers
